Contrast in picture

I have been working around with photoshop for my homework assignment for this class and another one, and which I found that "constrast" in photo really made things very intriguing and speaks volumes. One that would hardly been able to do without the combination of digital media and photography (I guess back in the days, people can the overlaying negative to create the effect too... is certainly not something that's easily done by just any amateur photographers)

I have had experience before with B&W photography, and I can say that contrast is an amazing way to change your photograph. Printing it photochemically still to my eyes yields superior results compared to what I can do in Photoshop (granted I have never done color printing). I remember the good times I had sitting by the booth with various red filters increasing the contrast. If you have never tried it, I sincerely recommend. It has even helped me with my Videography I have done.
